Custom Stove Backsplash from Reclaimed Wood
This was a unique project with a great deal of sentiment for the client. They wanted a stove backsplash made from woods important to their family. The main body of the backsplash is Poplar, which I repurposed from a dresser that had passed down through the family for several generations. The layer that literally stands out is made from Pecan, which came from a tree on the property that died, and had originally been used as a backsplash in its own right. After a hurricane, however, the pecan backsplash was destroyed and these pieces were all that remained. It was important to have them front and center in the final version of this new backsplash.
(Note - the pot filler remained off for these photos, thus the exposed section of pipe)
