Championship Chess Board
This Championship Chess Board is easily my finest creation. Not just my finest chess board, no. It is the best piece of craftsmanship I’ve ever produced. The board is made from Wenge (dark squares) and Curly Maple (light squares). The border is made from Wenge and contains both Curly Maple pin-striping on the face and Curly Maple inlays around the edges. The board sits above the border, appearing almost to float above the surface. It is regulation size, adhering to FIDE (International Chess Federation) standards with 2” (50 mm) squares and a 2” border on all sides, and the bottom of the board is felted to protect both the board and whatever surface on which it rests. This board carries a considerably large footprint at 19-1/4” x 19-1/4” and will serve as a statement piece for any chess connoisseur or collector.
