End-Grain Walnut Cutting Board

$0.00
sold out

I don’t make many cutting boards these days but I always relish the opportunity to do so. They’re the epitome of functional art - so much so that I’m frequently told they’re too beautiful to cut on. Given that, I always make my boards with a dedicated chopping face on one side, and a dedicated display face on the other. This client really loved the look of walnut and wanted her partner’s initials engraved, and I was happy to oblige. Then on the flip side, you have a beautiful juice groove for added functionality, and an end-grain surface that will hold up to knives for decades.

As much as cutting boards can seem like a simple project, there’s a lot of craft that goes into making them functional and beautiful, and it’s a craft I love to practice.
