Heirloom Jewelry Box #4
Easily the most beautiful box I’ve crafted to date. This jewelry box was a commission, inspired by a previous box I’d made. The client specifically requested the sapwood of Bastogne Walnut and extremely figured Quilted Maple. The box has a complete, 4-side grain-wrap. The lid and base are bookmatched, as are the bases for the two interior trays. The walls of the trays are also fully grain-wrapped. The splines are evenly spaced to the millimeter and made of the same Quilted Maple. The hinges are solid brass. Per client request, only the upper tray received a divider. The gentle curve of the divider adds a beautiful aesthetic to the tray and adds to the ease of removing it when access to the lower tray is required.
