Walnut End-Grain Cutting Board
A walnut cutting board, particularly an end-grain walnut cutting board, is as classic and timeless as it gets. Surprisingly, I’d never made one until now, and I knew I wanted to do it right. I decided to make a big board to live up to those big expectations. Measuring nearly 2’ x 2’ and weighing 18 lbs, this board is a beast! Not only is the board square, but the individual walnut components are also perfect squares, lending an additional aesthetic to this gorgeous board. As with all end-grain constructions, the board is self-healing and reticent to show knife marks. To expand the functionality of this board, one surface bears a juice groove to keep your counter clean whenever you’re working with tomatoes, meats, or any other such items. The opposite side of the board is untouched, presenting you with a pristine surface for use as a serving tray, or perhaps a larger cutting surface if you desire it. Grooved finger-wells in all 4 sides of the board make it easy to lift and transport, no matter which orientation you use. This piece will be the talking point of any room it’s in, and always brighten your kitchen experience.
Dimensions:
23-5/8” x 23-5/8” x 1-1/2”
